Research
Broadly, we are interested in studying microbial evolution and ecology. To gain insights into the fundamental mechanisms underlying the processes, we use an interdisciplinary approach that draws upon the fields of genomics, bioinformatics, evolutionary biology and ecology.
Specific topics in our lab include
-
Gut microbiome and their contribution to the host biology
-
Macroecological patterns of microbial communities
-
Realtime detection of antibiotic resistance using metagenomics
-
Bacterial tree of life
-
Development of bioinformatic tools
